Trying to get on the low-carb train? But you can’t get your husband to eat lettuce wraps?

Me,Too!

For just over a year now we’ve been working on a low-carb meal plan with recipes. We have been super successful eating low-carb. Cutting out the sugar seemed to jump-start everything — mood, weight loss, and exercise.

After finding out how well it worked, what I really wanted was an easy weekly meal plan along with a shopping list and recipes.

Probably like you, I was able to find plenty of meal plans and recipes online, but these weren’t always exactly what we needed.

So we enjoyed some experimental meals for a while, with a review session after each one. All the high-scorers made my weekly list, and with a little record-keeping, I now had a plan!

If you’re ready to investigate the “keto” craze, read on!

Be sure you understand that low-carb and keto are similar, but they don’t really mean the same thing. Keto is low-carb, but low-carb may not necessarily be keto.

What I’ve done is known as “lazy keto” which means we are probably achieving the desired ketosis and we are getting the weight loss, but we aren’t measuring the intake in nutrient numbers or the results in lab numbers.

You really do need to read up on the whole thing, and there’s a link to a great resource down at the end of this post. Written for the average person and so helpful in all the aspects.

Now, about this low-carb meal plan with recipes and shopping list:

I’m so excited about this that I’m eager to share. So I’ve gotten the low-carb meal plan and recipes, and also the shopping list, together in printable PDF form that you can print for yourself. It contains three great things:

1. PRINTABLE RECIPES

Remember: I’m an old fashioned person, and not a food blogger.  But we need to get you something printable and straightforward. All my recipes are printed and stored in a sturdy folder in the kitchen. Don’t you just love a paper recipe?

2. MEAL PLAN

Fail to plan, plan to fail. Isn’t that the motto?  So thanks to my trial-and-error period, I had a little group of recipes for main dishes and side dishes that actually worked with our lifestyle.  “What’s for dinner?”  is no longer followed by a long silent time period broken only by the jangle of car keys.

3. SHOPPING LIST

But the last stage was the best — a prepared printable shopping list. It contains all the ingredients for what we call our “keto” meals, as well as the regular standard grocery items.  Arranged by categories, it has reduced 90% of my grocery-shopping frustration factor.

When you see the meal plan and shopping list, you’ll start to understand how it helps.  The shopping list is one page you can fold in half and stick in your purse when you head to the grocery store. Sometimes I’ll circle the things I need, sometimes it’s easier to cross out the things I don’t. Either way it’s so nice to have the little reminders of things we “might” be low on.

Would you like the whole meal plan and the recipe collection? It’s 17 pages to print, and it’s not fancy. When the blog first started, I thought maybe I could be a food blogger. Not.  (I found out you have to love more than just eating.)

What they do is amazing. The cooking, the knowledge, the photography, everything.

So enjoy this, but don’t be surprised when it looks like Grammye did it, instead of a food blogger.

Let me say something: I’m so happy you stopped by. Really. Come back anytime.

And also check out this great book, The Keto Reset Diet by Mark Sisson. This told us all we needed to know to succeed at the “Keto” lifestyle.

The first book we had by this guy was The Primal Blueprint, and again he is so encouraging about a healthy lifestyle.
