What You Don’t See

February 29, 2020

What you don’t see. The invisible hearts of others. What do you see when you meet someone? Or maybe a better question is “What do you NOT see?”

Pinterest GFP What You Don't See

It’s what you don’t see.

The pain behind someone’s smile, the trials they face, the history they have.

What’s really so beautiful is the strength of a person who greets you with a smile, welcomes your family, takes the time to have a personal conversation, even when they are carrying enormous burdens.

Maybe we all need to take a step back from the ordinary disappointments of the day, and open our hearts to the needs of someone else.

Perhaps it’s someone you encounter every day, maybe just once.

What is it that makes us able to love others? And the deeper question, what is it that makes us able to understand the pain of a neighbor or a sister?

What gives people strength to care about others when their own trials are at hand?

You know what? Sometimes the strength comes from  our own pain, our own loss, our own experience.

Whatever weakness you feel prevents you from reaching out, please know that God’s ability to strengthen us is unlimited. In other words, there is no weakness in us that can disable His power.

Hoping you and I

find ways to surrender

to His power in us.

One night we thought we were just getting ice cream…

Turns out we got the kindness of a friendly person.

Thanks to all the friendly people who show us kindness.
