No-Bake Chocolate Cookies

We’ve always called these “mud cookies” and I’m not sure why. Maybe because they look a little like mud. They aren’t pretty, and technically I suspect they are candy, not a cookie.

And some recipes even call them no-cook cookies. (I try not to get mad about that, but it’s wrong. Because the instructions tell you to cook them.)

Once you eat one, you won’t care what they’re called. This hits every chocolatey-buttery-salty-sweet-chewy-nutty taste desire you could have.

And for those who wonder if you can make changes:  I’ve used some substitutions, and adjusted amounts, and it’s always good.

Hey, I managed to put the recipe before the backstory!

Here’s the printable version!

  1. Thank you! I’m fixing these for sure…but will have to use sun butter, which is ground up sunflower seeds. I’m allergic to peanut butter and have found that almond butter just doesn’t have a strong enough taste. I do need a chocolate fix now and then😁

    1. Mmmm! Sunbutter! That stuff is so good! We discovered it when the grandboys began attending a school that didn’t allow nuts. They actually prefer it now! I hope you love these cookies. Except for the butter, milk, and sugar, they’re really healthy. Thank you for visiting, Julie!
