Searching

February 21, 2020

I’ve been searching

so long

to find an answer…

-Chicago XXXV

If you’ve read the previous posts, you know I want to think.  A lot.  About important things. Just always searching.

But you would be surprised (or maybe you wouldn’t) about some of the the things I spend time dreaming about.  Things that might not seem very… important.

My Google searches include:

  • The best recipe for blondies.
  • Keto side dishes.
  • Really good pound cake
  • Best way to maintain neat toy storage
  • Making our home pretty on a budget.
  • Best plants for summers in the south.
  • How to dress in my 60’s and be pretty.  In that 60’s-woman kind of way.
  • Skin care products that work.
  • Making multigenerational living work.
  • Being a friend to someone in crisis.
  • How to really really exercise instead of doing something else.
  • How to limit my online time so my husband doesn’t say “You’re always on that…” (I’m kidding. I haven’t searched for that. Maybe I should.)

Some of my searches are quick.  But, people, I’m telling you some of these things I have returned to day after day.  Maybe because I didn’t find “the great answer”, or because I haven’t narrowed my decision down.

So sometimes I search.

Sometimes I find.

And I’ve found GREAT things!

For instance, I spent many hours searching and reading about how to make cloth-covered diaper boxes. The ones I have made are still here (after six years!).  I’ll tell you about that if you want. It was very frugal.

I have a great post to tell you all about the very best car seat, at a very good price, the only one you will ever need.  This of course is after the snappy little infant combo pack, the seat that snaps into the base or the stroller. Those are amazing.

If you have that and your arms suddenly are realizing your baby grew, I got you.

You don’t have to go searching!

Don’t even get me started about blogging.  This is a brand new blog, and figuring everything out has been really challenging.  Hard. Thank you to all the people who published truly helpful information.  I will tell you more about that. Just not today.  I do think I’m going to be an amateur for a long time.

I’m always searching for something to improve my home, or something to improve my contribution to my family.  I need good food, good habits, good ideas, good time, and good organization.  And a whole lot more.

I’m thinking about future posts, and wondering if any of these topics are something you are seeking, too?

Comment if you want, or e-mail if you’re a little shy about your name online, like me.

  1. Good thoughts! Wonder how many hours I spend searching for something I want or something I lost.
    Enjoying your front porch!
