My Current Prayer

May 28, 2020

Psalm 119: 9-11

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.
10 With my whole heart I seek you;
let me not wander from your commandments!
11 I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against you.

Very early in the morning,

while it was still dark,

Jesus got up,

left the house,

and went off to a solitary place,

where he prayed.

Mark 1:35

My current prayer:

Father,

Unrest surrounds us.

Immorality seems to dominate.

Corruption seeps into our trusted institutions.

And your people cry out to you.

Be the victor in our nation.

Be the victor in our lives.

May your power and glory

be seen among the nations.

May your holiness

be evident in my life.

May your graciousness

be evident in my behavior.

May your truth

govern my words and actions.

May your mercy

drive my attitude.

How can I keep my way pure?

By storing up your word in my heart.

Bless my efforts, Father.

Amen.

Hopefully you have time to listen to a song (or two) while you’re here and give yourself a break from the minute-to-minute spinning. If not now, please come back.

 Thank you for coming here,

taking your time to visit,

May our belief

and our witness grow

to seek wisdom

with the same fervor

we have used

to seek pleasure.
