Resources for School at Home

Are you doing school at home? No panic allowed. You’ve got this.

How about a list of websites that may offer you some helpful tips during this new and strange season?

Thanks for staying safe and staying home. Robbing this virus of its transmission routes may be our best defense.

LINKS TO KIDS’ ACTIVITIES

  1. Clark Howard’s suggestions for free or cheap kids activities. A big variety of suggestions.
  2. Focus on the Family’s resources for teaching kids at home. This one has a lot of its own links!
  3. Answers in Genesis Kids Page, with lots of activities, videos, etc..
  4. Crafts to make with your kids, by Highlights. Get out the paper towel rolls and the cotton balls.
  5. Look at the resources from My Father’s World. Magazines, websites, and much more.

Thanks to the friends who sent me some of these links!

To those at home, thank you.

To health care workers, thank you.

To stores and services who serve us, thank you.

To schoolteachers who change everything, thank you.

boys, kids, children

To the sick, we are praying for you.

To those who missed important events, we are praying for you.

To those in fear, we are praying for you.

To those in financial stress, we are praying for you.

Sheltering In Place

It looks so strange these days,

the shelter-in-place orders,

the days without schedules,

the fixation on the news, the progress,

and the just-around-the-bend change

that will signal the victory over what’s happening.

How will it look later?

None of us know.

For now, keep a lid on the anxiety, on the aggravation, and the accidents.

Stay safe and healthy, wash your hands.

And make some memories.

Observations:

Pollen is ever present.

Jelly toast is now a main dish to plan your meal around.

You’re seeing your family members for a lot more time now.

Never take your eyes off a 2-year-old.

dawn, dusk, fog
prayer, devotion, thought

Do you pray? I do.

Lord,

Our world is being overtaken.

Hear our cries, claim our hearts, calm our fear, heal our disease.

Show your power, glory, and mercy to a world who forgets.

Amen.

Have you ever read (or prayed) Puritan Prayers?

There is a book with a collection of these beautiful prayers. It is called “Valley of Vision.”

We were given one as a gift.

It remains a treasure, due to both the giver and the text.

Here is one of the prayers:

May I always see thy beauty with the clear eye of faith, and feel the power of thy Spirit in my heart, for unless he move mightily in me no inward fire will be kindled.”

Thank you for being here. Your presence means so much.

If you think this would be a valuable resource for someone you know, please share it.  I’m not super active on social media yet but will be soon.

To share without social media, you can simply select and copy the web address that shows at the top of your page (in your Chrome, Firefox, etc. browser) and insert that text into an e-mail or text message. That should work on any of the posts.

I have a few posts on home activities with kids during this season,

10 Ideas During Quarantine,

3 Snacks You Will Love,

What To Do Out of School,

Melissa and Doug Toy Roundup.

Thank you! At GFP company is always welcome!
