Beautiful well-made toys that encourage creative play. I’m talking about Melissa and Doug toys at Walmart. If you’re not familiar with these M&D toys, and you have anything to do with children, you will LOVE them.

This is a very special toy roundup, for all you lovers of Melissa and Doug toys. If you’re new to the game, these are amazing toys and sets, sturdy, beautiful, perfect for creative play, and the sets usually come with their own container!
I’ll start with the toys we actually have.
They are pictured below, and I wanted to show you also how easily they are stored.
(The car carrier actually comes with four cute cars.
Three of them were recently disposed of, with great pride, by a small person, right in the toilet where this commemorative photo was taken. Yes, reallly.😦)
If you’re wondering, yes, these toys are all at our house. In case you forgot, see my post where we put our heads together (also our clothes, food, and toys), which gave us quite an inventory!
What’s so great about these toys?
I LOVE to browse the Melissa and Doug toys at Walmart. In person is great, but if I can’t get there, online is even better. Well-thought-out playsets that make excellent use of hook-and-loop fasteners, and have a realistic appearance, and bright colorful parts. Most of them are wood, and the finish is excellent. They just feel great in your hands.
These days, we are having to be extra vigilant about screen time for our children. We are living for sunny days and good sleep, because children need to play. Really play.
Some of our games are those of a generation ago — sitting in the dirt with play trucks, and making up games on the swingset.
I’M SO GLAD.
I am loving the creative play, and the imagination being unleashed. It is so healthy, so beautiful, and so exciting.
Look at a few more toys, then get your Walmart order placed. The day that box arrives, you’re gonna have some really happy kids.
Melissa and Doug are real people, who set out to do this well. It’s now a worldwide company, and Walmart will not disappoint you.
We love our magnet board. One day I will tell you how I made this! It’s cute, but the magnets are cuter.
We don’t have this exact stamp set. It looks like it could be really fun for art projects.
